Donation Policy
Resources are provided through selection, purchase, donation, exchange and similar methods in order to create and develop a collection of books and similar materials that will support university education and training and assist in research. In addition to “purchase” among the “procurement” methods for the purpose of developing our library collection, “donation” publications are accepted for the purpose of supporting education and training at the University, contributing to research and developing the collection.
Who will contact the person and/or organization that wants to donate, which formal and/or content qualities of books and similar materials will be accepted as donations, evaluation of the material subject to donation, etc. will guide you, our valued readers, with this guideline. In providing materials to the University Library through donation and exchange, the Library’s founding purposes are taken into consideration. A list of donated materials that are included in the collection is kept. Materials that are not included in the collection can be returned to the donor or given to other university libraries. Materials that are suitable for the library collection are added to the collection after their technical procedures are completed, and a thank you letter is sent to the donor or institution on behalf of our University.
The books, periodicals and non-book materials donated to the library are evaluated and accepted by the “Material Selection Committee” consisting of 3 people, formed by the Head of the Library and Documentation Department within the scope of the collection development policy.
